The location Landshut.

Landshut was the first typical Wittelsbach founding city (1204), thanks to its location on the Isar River and at the crossroads of old trade routes, the city developed rapidly. An outward sign of the outstanding position of the Landshut dukes was the magnificent wedding of Duke George the Rich to the Polish king's daughter Hedwig in 1475.

Since 1903, the "Landshut Wedding" has been reenacted every four years with more than 2,000 participants. Landshut, today with a population of about 65,000, is a modern city in whose historic center history is alive.

From as early as 1800 to 1826, the city was home to the Bavarian State University, which had been founded in Ingolstadt in 1472 by Duke Ludwig the Rich of Bavaria-Landshut. Subsequently, Landshut increasingly developed into a city of authorities and schools. As part of this, the University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1971.

Today, Landshut University of Applied Sciences offers a wide range of degree programs in the six faculties of Business Administration, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Interdisciplinary Studies, Mechanical Engineering and Social Work.
